SnagMaster — Privacy Policy
Overview
SnagMaster is a site snagging and audit app. It is local-first: your projects, items and photos are stored on your device and the app is fully usable without an account. If you choose to create an account and sign in, your data is also backed up and synced to our cloud so you can access it on other devices and share projects with people you invite.
What we collect and why
You provide / create:
- Account details — your email address and password (passwords are stored by our authentication provider as a secure hash; we never see your plain password).
- Project content — projects, areas, items/snags, notes, statuses, assignees, due dates, and photos you take or attach.
- Location (optional) — if you tap to tag an item’s location, we record the GPS coordinates and, where available, a street address for that item. Location is only captured when you request it; it is not tracked in the background.
Collected automatically when signed in:
- Device push token — an identifier from Firebase Cloud Messaging used to send you assignment and due-date notifications. Stored only while you’re signed in.
We use this data solely to provide the app’s features: storing your work, syncing it across your devices, sharing projects with teammates you invite, generating your reports, and sending notifications you’ve enabled.
Where your data is stored
- On your device — always, whether or not you sign in.
- In our cloud (only if you sign in) — hosted with Supabase (database and photo storage). Push notifications are delivered via Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.
- Reports (PDF) and CSV exports are generated on your device; when you share or email them, they go wherever you choose to send them.
Sharing
- Teammates you invite — if you share a project, its content (including photos and any location tags) is visible to the people you invite, according to the role you give them (viewer or editor).
- We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
- We may disclose data if required by law.
Data retention and deletion
- Data stays until you delete it. Deleting a project removes it from your account and syncs that removal to teammates.
- To delete your account and associated cloud data, contact us at ashleydell060590@gmail.com and we will remove it.
- Local data can be removed at any time by deleting the app or the project on your device.
Permissions the app uses
- Camera / Photos — to capture and attach photos to items.
- Location — only when you tap to tag an item’s location.
- Notifications — to send assignment and due-date reminders (you can turn these off in your device settings).
Children
SnagMaster is intended for professional/business use and is not directed at children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your country).
Security
We use reputable providers and industry-standard measures (encrypted transport, hashed passwords, access controls) to protect your data. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by a new effective date at the top.
